Mkushi Show 2023

Last week North Swaka Trust participated in the annual Mkushi Agricultural and Commercial Show alongside our implementing partners: the Forestry Department and Foundations Zambia. Over the weekend thousands of people attended the show. As well as highlighting our community projects, we focused on the importance of Zambia’s Forest Reserves and how protecting our forests is as much about protecting Zambian lives and livelihoods as it is about protecting trees. Everyone passing through our stand had the opportunity to participate in a Forest Quiz with a chance to win North Swaka hats and water bottles. Our fuel-efficient Swaka Stove was cooking nshima and mealies throughout the weekend, demonstrating how much safer, healthier, more efficient and faster cooking on a Swaka Stove can be.
