Community Conservation Banking

In 2022 North Swaka Trust piloted a new project: Community Conservation Banking. This savings model promotes village-level microfinance to support the growth of conservation-compatible small-scale businesses. After providing training and support over a period of 6 months these pilot banking groups are running independently, saving and investing in each other's business ideas.

We are grateful to the North Luangwa Conservation Programme who shared their experience and expertise with us and helped to kick-start this project which is expanding in 2023.
